Dromana Tigers – Round 16 Notes

After a break of many years we play Pines at Eric Bell Reserve in our round 16 game. Pines are coming off a loss and are probably still smarting from their loss to us earlier in the year so we should be in for a hard game and will need to recapture our earlier form as what we have produced in the last two rounds may not be good enough.

Round 15 brought an ideal day for skilful football with no wind and a dry ball. For the first time in many games Dromana U19s started a game with players on the bench and at quarter-time trailed Edi-Asp by just a point, however we let the visitors get away in the second term to open up a 3 goal break by halftime. Dromana fought back in the third term to close the gap to 10 points at the last break. The last quarter saw Edi-Asp score 2 goals to Dromana’s 1 and run out 17 point winners. Dromana reserves were never in the game against an efficient visiting side and lost by 49 points despite Chooka kicking 3 goals in his comeback game.
The senior game followed the line of the previous round with the opposition establishing a 25 point first quarter lead then Dromana chipping away at it until finally heading them in the last quarter to run out 7 point winners after keeping them goalless in the final term. We will need to produce a four quarter effort today if we expect to win.

The 8th draw of the Home Game Raffle was won by Justine Kelly No. 184.
